Physical education and participation in sport is an intrinsic part of the education offered at Reading School

The PE Department aims to inspire each student to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle throughout his life, and the PE curriculum helps every boy to develop a broad range of skills essential to life beyond Reading School.

These are based on six key processes:

  • Physical literacy
  • Knowledge of health and fitness
  • Physical and mental resilience
  • Reflectiveness
  • Resourcefulness
  • Leadership

Throughout the year, the PE Department also run a wide variety of competitive fixtures with other local schools, and a programme of inter-house competitions within school.  To keep up to date with this part of School life, including information about fixtures and results, please visit:  Thanks to William Clennell who set up the site.
