The Boarding Community at Reading School is a fantastic place in which to be a student. We have 70 boarders from years 7-13 in two boarding houses, East Wing and South House. Boys benefit greatly from boarding by not only having more time for recreational activities than they might if they travelled to school, but also through the great pleasure of sharing excellent facilities with excellent friends.
Living as a boarder in Reading School provides a friendly and welcoming environment for boys of all ages within the school. From Year 7 upwards, Boarding encourages a spirit of community and cooperation amongst the boys, and provides them with the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities which would not be open to them in the day school. The opportunities and benefits of Boarding are profound and life as a boarder in Reading School can be great fun. We aim to make South House and East Wing a genuine 'home away from home' and feel proud of our success in this ambition.
