Mr Richard Childs **

I was elected a parent governor in 2010.  I try to be an active support to the school, spending my time in the following areas: Finance Committee; Property Committee; Development Board; Headmaster’s Financial Strategies Working Group; link governor for physics; and I am a trustee of the Reading Foundation.  I am an alumnus of the school myself (1971-78).  I retired early from Accenture where I was a senior partner – so I have a clear view of what top employers look for from boys like ours.  I have two daughters who have both been through secondary school, the university entrance process and are experiencing the current job market.  I taught physics for two years a long time ago!  I am interested in supporting the team that runs Reading School, securing funds for the school and in finding ways of improving the facilities that are on offer to current and future generations of students.

Mr Mark Faulkner

I am an appointed governor, joining the governing body in March 2014. I am a retired chartered accountant and stockbroker, having lived and worked across Asia and the Americas for almost 20 years. For the majority of my career I managed teams of research analysts looking into economies, industries and companies to provide investment advice to professional investors. I have also spent extended periods as a visiting post-graduate researcher at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan and in a similar role in the Japanese central bank, the Bank of Japan. I am currently a serving school governor at a primary school in Hampshire and a local councillor. My interests include how Reading School prepares boys for life after they leave the school and, against the backdrop of the way in which my life and career unfolded, opportunities for boys to find experience overseas. I have a son who recently joined the school as a boarding pupil.

Maggie Stock

Mrs Maggie Stock**

Elected as parent governor in December 2012 (my son is now in Year 13), I serve on the Curriculum and Standards Committee and am Vice-Chair of the External Relations and Pastoral Care Committee.  My Link Governor role comprises both Classics and Modern Foreign Languages, so my professional work as an MFL teacher in another Academy supports this function, and my previous marketing/PR career and governorship also enable me to contribute further knowledge, skills and experience.

Beth Reynaert

Dr Beth Reynaert

I joined the Governing Body in March 2015. I am a teacher and Academic Manager by profession, entering the field of education after completing a BSc in Applied Biology, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and five years as a Research Associate studying the physical interaction of proteins in Thrombosis and Neurofibromatosis. I have developed an in depth knowledge of tracking pupil progress, careers education, timetabling and curriculum, exams management, data management and analysis, staffing and pastoral care within both boarding and day settings. I am interested in all aspects of school management. I am keen to utilise my position on the Governing Body to support Reading School in the education of its pupils against an ever changing educational landscape.

Karen Ross MBE

I was appointed as Governor in March, 2016 and am working out which areas of support I can provide. In my career, I recently retired as Chief Executive of Relate Berkshire, running counselling services to support couples, families, children and young people. I am passionate about providing quality education in an environment which encourages young people to grow and develop and am currently working out which areas of support for the school I can provide to the Board.

Aditi Bose **

I joined Reading School governing body from December 2016 as a parent governor and have twin boys in the school who started in Year 7 from September 2015. Being a chemical engineer by profession with over 20 years of experience, I have been lucky to have worked in various roles, responsibilities, locations and in wide variety of industries including  Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, atomic energy and nuclear waste management to name a few. It is my pleasure that I am able to support Reading School with my limited ability to maintain it’s high standards and ethos of providing excellent education and leadership qualities to the boys and giving the society some of their best men who not only shine in their future lives as a successful man and a good human being but also help other less fortunate ones.
E Bradley 28-11-16

Mr Edmund Bradley**

I joined the Governing Body as a parent governor in December 2016 and plan to attend the meetings of all the sub-committees before deciding which ones to support on a permanent basis. I am an accountant by profession and until recently was financial business partner for children and schools at a nearby Berkshire local authority. School funding has been a big part of my professional career and I am familiar with the financial challenges state-funded schools face. I look forward to using this knowledge to help shape the future direction of Reading School and to develop further the broader experience of the boys. I have also worked with the Audit Commission, in the education charity sector, and have recently taken up a new finance role at Reading University. I have two sons, one is in his first year at university, the other is now in year 10. My wider interests include music, modern languages and current affairs.
