Ignite Creative Writing leader, Alex Baker, delivered a workshop after school in the LRC on day two of Book Festival Week. The focus was on persuasive writing and pupils were asked to write an advert for strange and unusual products selected at random from a hat. From self-destructive egg whisks to gyroscopic hairy helicopters and portable four wheeled snorkels to all terrain self-cleaning scooters, pupils rose to the challenge in this entertaining session.
Special thanks go to Mrs C Harden, Mr R Baldock and Mrs L Kesteven, for organising and hosting a series of creative writing workshops for the pupils. There were some great examples of mini-biographies, dystopian worlds and marketing ridiculous-sounding products!
