KS4 National Badminton Championships – 28th April 2018
Fresh from their World success in India, our ‘shuttlers’ swapped the delights of India for the surroundings of Milton Keynes for the KS4 national badminton championships. The squad of five represented Reading School with determination, skill and when required, ice-cool execution. Manchester Grammar School had victory ripped from their grasp after being 2-1 up in the final match only to be thwarted by the dynamic Dillingham duo. Mr T Bellinger’s replacement coach, Mr S Pedlow, showed his acumen through brilliant tactical decisions and timely coaching interventions. As a result, Reading School were once again crowned National Badminton Champions following their successes in 2016 and 2017.
The ever popular National Schools Championships drew entry from over 6,400 school teams and player numbers exceeded 40,000.
We await our invitation to the 2020 ISF World Schools’ Badminton Championships, held in Greece.
Many thanks to Badminton England.
