Reading School Book Festival -4th- 8th March 2019

Reading School Annual Book Festival promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking week, bringing readers and writers together for inspiration, entertainment and discussion. 

Reading School Book Week Festival fantastic line up of writers and industry experts:

Monday 4th March: Fantasy Creative Writing Workshop with Alex Baker from Igniting Writing . This is open to all ages but places need to be booked by emailing lkesteven@reading-school.co.uk

Tuesday 5th of March: Award winning dystopian author Sarah Govett will be giving a talk to all Year 10 pupils

Wednesday 6th of March: Bestselling author Taran Matharu will be delivering creative writing workshops to all Year 7 pupils and Prof. Nicolas Tredell will deliver a talk to English A-level pupils from Reading School and Kendrick School.

Thursday 7th of March: World Book Day! The whole school will Drop Everything and Read during lesson 3 followed by an informal lunch time talk from industry expert and author Holly Webb . This is open to all ages, but places need to be booked by emailing lkesteven@reading-school.co.uk

Friday 8th of March: Award winning author Jon Robinson will deliver talks and workshops to pupils in Years 8 and 9. There will be a book sale after each author talk and workshop. We recommend parents pre-order books in advance via Scopay to avoid disappointment. The deadline for book pre-orders is Friday 8th of February. Pupils can of course bring their own copies in for the author to sign.

Finally, for the first year ever, Reading School and Kendrick School have challenged each other to a Year 7 Readathon. Which school will read the most and raise the most money for charity? Details to follow shortly.
