“For myself, a move to Reading School presented a superb opportunity to aim higher for my prospects post A-level; going through the school’s statistics, it is clear that students are truly given the finest education you could find in England, but more so given the confidence they need to succeed in Higher Education. I came to this school with a great deal of hope, but also anxiety and nervousness, but I am still in shock to this day to the extent to which I have integrated into the cohort. Not only this, I have never felt disadvantaged either as a new student, being allowed to pursue Leadership roles and granted the fantastic role of House Captain for the year. As with every school, the forefront aspect is the students; the school is filled with students who are supportive and show a true yearning to help others, as can be evidenced through the widespread mentorship that Reading School exults. For 900 years, this school has produced excellent men – those who often go on to make a real difference in their industry or the greater world which results wholly from the adaptive and modern styles of teaching that the school pushes. One thing is simple at Reading School, regardless of your background and socioeconomic qualities, the school strives to reward those with true initiative and true apt for learning, characteristics that may not come naturally to all, but will be bold in you after your time at Reading School.”

“Reading School has provided a great learning environment.  The teachers are always supportive and provide everyone an opportunity to achieve their potential. In boarding, there is a sense of community in both houses we are given right amount of responsibility and freedom. It is our second home.”

Daniel C commented:

“I chose to move to Reading School as I was able to study 4 A level subjects, something which wasn’t possible at my old school. I was a bit sad to leave my old friends but I have not regretted my decision to move at all. I found it a really smooth transition to Reading and it feels like I’ve always been here.”

Sanchit A stated:

“I moved to Reading School from another local grammar school for an enhanced learning experience, and to build a strong network with high achieving and well-rounded individuals. I have enjoyed my time here a lot, and made great friends along the way.”

“Moving to Reading School, I thought I would feel like an outsider at first but once I put myself out there it has been a smooth sailing ride ever since. The understanding teachers and supportive Medical Society made the whole university application process a lot easier for me.”

Liam P commented:

“Moving to Reading School from another local school has been an extremely fruitful decision for me. The transition was extremely smooth thanks to such a strong school community. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in extra curricular activities such as House Sports and Music.”
