The CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals

Marcus Sedgwick appears on the Carnegie shortlist...

The shortlists for the 2018 CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals, the UK’s oldest book awards for children and young people, were revealed today. Celebrating the best in children’s writing and illustration respectively, the Medals are unique in being judged by children’s librarians. We are delighted to announced that Saint Death by Marcus Sedgwick appears on the Carnegie shortlist. Marcus made a rare UK appearance at Reading School in September, delivering a lively and motivational talk to all Year 7 and 8 pupils. He spoke about the inspiration behind Saint Death, including a dangerous journey into Mexican gang territory. The winners of the CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals 2018 will be announced on Monday 18th June 2018. We wish Marcus the best of luck.
