Co-curricular activities

During the first week back we have seen excellent participation from all students

As we settle back in to a new school term we have started the week with intense Rugby Training for all year groups led by Mr M Kearle (Teacher of History) and Mr J Steadman (Teacher of PE, Head of County House) on building strength and conditioning to increase strength and power.

Year 9's today had an inspiring Basketball session with specialist coaches from the Reading Rockets.  Thank you Rockets for working in partnership with Reading School this was an energetic game.

Essential Movement Skills with Strength and Conditioning takes place every Tuesday and Thursday after school in the Fitness Suite led by Mr S Allen (Teacher of PE, Head of School House) and Mr T Evans (Assistant Head).  Lots of Year 7 and 8's building up their stamina.

We also saw the return of the Fencing club an excellent sport to improve lower body strength, speed and hand-eye coordination whilst developing flexibility.  This club runs every Thursday by our external provider.

Pupils are encouraged to see the Club and Societies list and come along to learn effective training techniques or take up new interests and hobbies.  There is something for everyone.
