Machine Learning and its Applications in Video Data Analytics - Monday 14th October 2019​​​​​​​

Professor Maozhen Li received his PhD in Computer Science in China in 1997. He did his Post-Doctoral research in the Department of Computer Science at Cardiff University. He is now a Professor in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at Brunel University London.

His research interests are in the areas of high-performance computing technologies including grid computing and cloud computing, big data analytics, and intelligent systems. He has over 180 scientific publications in these areas including 5 books.

He has over 180 scientific publications in these areas including 5 books. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS)  and the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). 

Maozhen will focus on Machine learning (ML), a branch of artificial intelligence (AI), has seen a rapid development in the past few years. This talk focuses on how ML learning techniques such as artificial neural networks are applied in recognition of objects in video data streams.

This lecture will take place on Monday 14th October 2019 at 15:30 in the Lecture Theatre.
