Excellent turnout at Year 7 Welcome Service- Sunday 6th October 2019
On Sunday 6 October, Reading School held its annual Chapel service for new students from 18:30 in the School Chapel, led by the School Chaplin, Gert Cornelissen.
Mr A M Robson (Headmaster) was delighted to meet new Year 7 pupils and their parents at the service with the best attendance to date.
The move to secondary school is an exciting and important transition in the life of every student. For our Year 7 students, this event marks the start of their journey through Reading School and allows them to get to know each other. Attending School events and being a part of the school community is integral to the success of your son and the school.
Our aim is to make all our new students and their families feel welcome and safe so that students hit the ground running at the start of Year 7. We are thrilled that all Year 7 pupils have settled in superbly.
I would like to extend a very big thank you to all the parents and staff who attended or contributed to the welcome service. A special thank you to the School Chaplain, Mr Gert Cornelissen and the Society Office for organising this event. Credit also goes to David McGall (Assistant Head) for his support and James Tunstill (Director of Music) who played the organ.
Last but not least congratulations to all of our Year 7 pupils for such a successful and vivacious start.
