ORA AGM & Dinner- Saturday 25th September 2021

Join us for the ORA AGM dinner on Saturday 25th September 2021 at 19:00 in Big School

Invitation on the behalf of Mr Andrew Tuggey CBE DL (1958-66) President of the Old Redingensian Association

We are delighted to be able to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Reading School and its community as it emerges from some restrictions of the last two years. Preceded by the ORA Annual General Meeting, this is an evening intending to celebrate the Reading School family; all those connected with the Reading School community (i.e. alumni; current and former teachers, associate staff, governors, members of the Reading Foundation and members of the Reading School Parents Association) and their partners are warmly welcome. We were proud of the success of the last ORA Annual Dinner, held in 2019 and hope you come and enjoy the festivities of the evening.

Introducing Guest Speaker William McCallum (OR 1999-2006; School Captain 2005-2006)

This year, we have the pleasure of welcoming OR William McCallum (1999-2006) as our guest speaker. William was School Captain from 2005-6 and went on to study Persian & Arabic at the University of Oxford.

Currently, William is Head of Oceans at Greenpeace UK.  Given the hugely important focus on climate change and the coming COP26 in Glasgow in November, his talk will be fascinating.

It would be great to see as many ORs from the Class of 2006 to support Will and catch up with one another and maybe a former teacher or two!

Covid - In order to ensure the safety of our guests, we request that all attendees must undertake a lateral flow test and test negative in the 48 hours before the event and only attend if the result is negative. This includes those that have already been single or double vaccinated. Please click here order a lateral flow test.

Wearing a face covering can reduce the risk to others and yourself against the spread of infection.  From 19 July 2021, there is no longer a legal requirement to wear face coverings in indoor settings or on public transport.  While no situation is risk-free, there are actions we can take to protect ourselves and others around us.  Therefore, we expect and recommend that face coverings are worn in communal areas and in the Lecture Theatre during the AGM.  As government guidance states we should continue to wear face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces where you come into contact with people you don’t usually meet.  Please use your judgement in deciding where you should wear one.

Full refunds will be made in the case whereby the event is cancelled or for other Covid-related issues.
