The safeguarding governor for Reading School is Bob Kenwrick.

Gov

Lesley Wakelin

My name is Lesley Wakelin and I work at the Royal Berkshire Hospital as the Renal Transplant Administrator.  I have been in this role for the past 18 months and love working alongside the nurses, Drs and patients.

Previously I worked  for Thames Valley Police and retired in 2021.

During my time with Thames Valley Police  I had the pleasure of coming into Reading School to give talks to the pupils on various subjects.

Visiting the school I always found the boys to be interested and engaged in all the work I did with them, the kept me on my toes as they “challenged” me constantly with their thirst for learning and questioning the topic I was talking about.

I have been a governor and then chair of governor for a local infants school for 26 years leaving in 2019, a role I thoroughly enjoyed.

In my spare time I am involved in the Dragon boat community I am the Chief time keeper for The British Dragon Boat Association and also Deputy Chief Official and also an International Dragon Boat official.  I have beenluckiy enough to have been selected to go to the World Championships in China and Germany in recent years.
