The safeguarding governor for Reading School is Bob Kenwrick.

Tim Tuggey

I joined Reading School in 2016, having taught Physics in secondary schools since 1981, with a few subsidiary subjects along the way including Maths, Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, ICT and Computer Science. I have had various additional roles including Head of Physics, Head of Science and, as a senior teacher, Assessment and Data Manager. I have also managed a large budget for supply teachers as teacher in charge of cover.
In education beyond the school I have been an A level Physics examiner for what is now Pearson since 1990, and a senior examiner since 1999. In this role I also have been fortunate in travelling quite widely to provide training for teachers from Europe, the Middle East and the Far East, from Madrid to Malaysia.
Over the last 40 years I have served in a number of roles with my teacher union, starting as the Assistant Masters and Mistresses Association by way of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers to the current National Education Union, at school, local authority, regional and national level.
I was also a Reading School parent from 2005 to 2012, so I have that perspective in addition to being a member of staff.
On joining Reading School, having benefited greatly in the 1970s from my own time as an Air Cadet, to the extent of qualifying for my Private Pilot’s Licence, I was delighted to take the opportunity to join the CCF as an adult volunteer, receiving my RAF (VRT) commission in 2017, and to be able, as Flying Officer Tuggey, to help our current students in turn in their development of the long-established Royal Air Force pillars of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence, complementing the Reading Way.
