2025 marks a milestone like no other—900 years of Reading School. 

It has been a year of extraordinary celebrations. In March, we held our first Giving Day, attracting over 1,800 donors worldwide. In June, more than 5,000 neighbours, families and friends joined our inaugural Community Carnival. Then in July, former staff and Old Redingensians (ORs) returned for the Grand Reunion, reconnecting from across the globe and rekindling friendships.

Our celebrations, however, are not yet over. We are saving the grandest event for last—the jewel in the crown of our 900th anniversary year:

This prestigious evening blends tradition with inspiration, here’s a glimpse of the night’s highlights:

• Pre-Dinner Reception: Raise a glass during welcome drinks while reconnecting with friends and fellow alumni.
• Three-Course Gala Dinner: Enjoy a delicious three-course dinner. Click HERE to download the menu.
• Keynote Speaker: Hear from a special guest speaker, Tom Whipple (OR 1993–2000), Feature Writer at The Times, Science Writer and Special Correspondent, who will share inspiring insights to mark this memorable occasion.
• Live music performances will take place throughout the evening, including a special featured set during dinner.
• Silent Auction: Bid on exclusive experiences and items—every pound raised will support The Beyond 900 Fund, helping enhance school facilities and expand our social mobility programme, Future Stories.
