Congratulations to our Year9 and Year10 students at Reading School on completing their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award! They've all demonstrated: Dedication, time management & growth mindset – completing Bronze shows a willingness to push personal boundaries and juggle commitments successfully Skill development – discovering new talents, boosting self-confidence, and honing planning and motivation skills Community service – learning compassion, tolerance and leadership through sustained volunteering Physical recreation – improving fitness, selfesteem and teamwork by embracing an active lifestyle Adventurous journey – building independence, problem solving, leadership and appreciation of the outdoors By taking on each section of the Award, our students have not only earned a nationally recognized qualification, but they've also grown in confidence, resilience and civic competence – skills that will serve them throughout their lives and futures. Well done to all our Bronze Award achievers! Your hard work under the guidance of Reading School's DofE Lead, Ms Mandy Smith, embodies the spirit of Reading School. We can't wait to see how you leverage these experiences when you return to School in September!

Did You Know Hu in Vietnam was the Imperial Capital for 143 Years from 1802 to 1945 under the Nguyn Dynasty? It was also the political, cultural, and religious centre of the nation and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. Several of our lucky History students have been on an exciting trip to Vietnam where they have been able to soak in the history, sample the culture, food and customs of the ancient country while gaining a deeper appreciation for Vietnam's vibrant past and living traditions. A plethora of exciting international trips have also been taking place elsewhere. Further students have been able to visit China, Finland and Germany where they have broadened their horizons and made lifelong memories. What a fantastic start to our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Qualifier Expedition! Our teams of students arrived at camp eager to pitch their tents and cook up their dinner. From perfecting putting their tents up to swapping recipe tips over the stove, their teamwork, resilience and cando spirit shone through every step of the way.
